In 2013, Ms. Roy sued Mr. Rue, claiming assault and battery. The trial court entered a default judgment for Ms. Roy and awarded more than $23 million in damages. In 2021, Mr. Rue filed a petition to open and strike the default judgment. The trial court denied the motion, and the Superior Court affirmed. On appeal, Mr. Rue made a host of claims about problems with the service of Ms. Roy’s complaint. The Court dismissed each allegation of error.
