In the case of In re Conflict of Interest of the Office of the Philadelphia Dist. Att’y, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered a Special Master to unseal the record in Mumia Abu-Jamal’s case. The Court’s order was per the recommendation of the Special Master that the Court had appointed to investigate alleged conflicts of interest, which were the basis of the widow of deceased Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner‘s King’s Bench request. The Court declined the petitioner’s invitation to throw the Philly DA’s Office off the case and insert the Office of Attorney General.
