Commonwealth v. Purnell

The Superior Court confronted an issue of first impression: Whether a witness may take the stand with a comfort dog or service animal. The Court ruled under Pa.R.E. 611 that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in permitting a mentally handicapped minor to testify with a comfort dog.
