The Pennsylvania Superior Court quashed the appeal of a trial court’s order because the trial court did not have jurisdiction to render the decision. The Commonwealth charged a juvenile as an adult with murder. He filed a petition to decertify the case. 50 days after the hearing, the trial court granted the petition. The Commonwealth appealed. The Superior Court held that, under 42 Pa.C.S. § 6322(b), the trial court had 20 days to issue a decision on the decertification petition. After 20 days, a petition for decertification is denied by operation of law.
