The Pennsylvania Superior Court quashed the appeal of a trial court’s order because the trial court did not have jurisdiction to render the decision. The Commonwealth charged a juvenile as an adult with murder. He filed a petition to decertify the case. 50 days after the hearing, the trial court granted the petition. The Commonwealth appealed. The Superior Court held that, under 42 Pa.C.S. ยง 6322(b), the trial court had 20 days to issue a decision on the decertification petition. After 20 days, a petition for decertification is denied by operation of law.
